There is a reason why WordPress is so darn popular as a blog script and CMS – they are developer friendly from theme design to plugin development.

Thousands of free WordPress themes by third party developers have been made available to WordPress operators (see http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/), and many premium WordPress themes (aka not so free) have been made available as well.

Premium WordPress Themes are worth a mention because of the complexity and functionality not found in so many free themes – such as dynamically generated drop-down menu, theme options (feature box setting, ad setting, pre-set color selection, blog v.s. default display, etc.), and custom functions.

Premium themes may be nice, however, it comes with a pretty hefty price tag and licensing terms that may restrict you from ever selling your website.

As a web development consulting company, we have tried many premium themes, but one stood out as best in value (aka biggest bang for our bucks) – that is Elegant Themes and we highly recommend it since it only costs $19.95 per YEAR and has very flexible licensing term. The developer who runs that theme club has consistently pumped out one new theme per month.

Take a look at some of the themes and you’ll agree that this theme club is probably the best valued theme membership out there.

We like it so much that we are using one of his themes (EarthlyTouch) to run the blog that you are reading right now!

Did you know that GuruCS is powered by a premium WordPress theme? Yes, GuruCS is powered by WordPress and the theme is made available by Elegant Themes (highly recommended since it only costs $19.95 per YEAR!).
